The “Pok Oi Hospital Tuen Mun Lam Tei Nursing and Residential Care Home for the Elderly Project” (Lam Tei Project) is located at 17 Fuk Hang Tsuen Road, Lam Tei, Tuen Mun. This project has been made possible by a donation of 100,000 square feet of land from Dr. Lee Shau Kee and is supported by the Social Welfare Department’s Lottery Fund under the “Special Scheme on Privately Owned Site for Welfare Uses”. The project is progressing smoothly, with a topping-out ceremony scheduled for early 2026 and operations expected to commence in the first quarter of 2027. Once completed, it will become the largest residential home for the elderly operated by a single entity in Hong Kong, providing 1,434 beds.
Guided by a core philosophy of personalized care, Pok Oi Hospital seeks to pioneer a new model of elderly care services by developing the Lam Tei project into a “Smart Elderly Home.” This innovative facility will integrate advanced technology to support caregivers in ensuring the health and well-being of senior residents. The objective is to elevate the overall quality of elderly care services, benefiting all stakeholders, including the elders, their families, and the caregivers.
